Maverick Stone

As some of you might have guessed, I have this weird obsession with the 70's in general, but especially 70's cops. I will be creating a sculpture based off one of the Night Beat characters Mike Goger (fellow animator), Alonzo Alvia (great sequential artist), and I have generated.

I've been doing a huge amount of iterations of the character and am finally coming to a closing point, and will be starting the sculpture in about a week.

These are just a few head constructions I did. Experimentation is a necessity to come up with the best results, which is surely what I hope for.

I will be posting all of the character designs in about a week so be prepared for a H U G E update. And I will keep you all updated with the sculpture as it progresses.

Thanks to all who stop by. Feel free to comment. Let me know which head you favor towards.

More Maya Fun!!!

Hey there followers and passerbys.

Here is a little preview of a detective office I modeled using Maya. The program is a lot of fun and a lot to learn, but slowly and surely I am picking up on it.

The scene is a 70's detective office, belonging to the much feared and respected, Chief Roger Kelly of the South City precinct. I have this weird obsession with everything 70's. I just am really attracted to the era. The color palettes are so Awesome! 70% desaturated 30% highly saturated. pure GENIUS.

I will post more pictures as soon as I properly light and texture the scene, but the jest is apparent in this image.

Thanks for poppin' your noggin' in.
Over and out.

Citreon 2CV

Hey to all that is interested,

It has been a while, nearly a month, and I apologize. I need to keep up with my blog to keep the few interested viewers coming back. This is a Citreon 2cv that I will be modeling in Maya. The plan is to properly model, texture, and light the thing so everyone can get their oooos and ahhhhs out. So stay tuned folks, it's gonna be fun!

Thanks, and come again soon!

One, Two, Three strikes your out at the Old ball game

I've been drawing up some old time baseball players lately, and doing some sketchy character design for a potential 3d animation. But we'll see. It's been a lot of fun and I'll post the sketches once I build up enough of them. Feel free to comment.

Thanks for stopping by.

Amsterdam Color Studies, YAY!!

Here is a quick color study of the environment and background atmosphere. The image still needs work, and I'm thinking about polishing it, but for right now a quick study is fulfilling my needs. And the next image is Leonard Thompson, extreme dumb ass backpacker guy. I still need to do some more character design and stylistic exploration, but this is what I came up with for now. Hope you enjoy!

NIGHT BEAT

Some friends and I are creating our own 70's spoof on cop shows. Here's a little image for the fans.
